Technical Writer/Editor – Documentation and Process Support
Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking an organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer/Editor to support the MyNavy HR modernization initiative. This role focuses on creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation to support business process reengineering, system transitions, and modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will excel in communicating complex concepts clearly and concisely, ensuring all materials meet organizational and compliance standards.
For nearly 50 years, CSA has delivered integrated technology and operational support services to meet the defense and federal sector's most complex enterprise needs. Working from operations centers and shipyards to training sites and program offices, CSA deploys experienced teams, innovative tools and proven processes to advance federal missions.
This position is contingent upon award/funding.
How Role will make an impact (Duties and Responsibilities):
- Create, edit, and maintain documentation for MyNavy HR modernization efforts, including user manuals, system specifications, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Ensure documentation aligns with Department of Defense (DoD) standards, including DODAF and BEA requirements.
- Support the development of "As-Is" and "To-Be" process models and ensure clear communication of changes to stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain a centralized repository of documentation to ensure materials are accessible and up-to-date.
- Standardize document formatting and style to ensure consistency across all materials.
- Support ongoing updates and revisions to documentation as processes and systems evolve.
- Collaborate with project teams to capture functional and operational requirements and translate them into clear, actionable documentation.
- Assist in documenting requirements gathering, traceability verification, and project milestones to support system and process transitions.
- Develop meeting materials, including agendas, presentations, and summary reports, to facilitate discussions and decision-making.
- Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) sessions, working groups, and milestone reviews, providing documentation support and capturing action items.
- Support the preparation of monthly reports, detailing progress, challenges, and recommendations for modernization efforts.
- Provide editorial support for project-related deliverables, ensuring clarity, grammar, and adherence to organizational standards.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to DoD compliance requirements, including IA and CE standards.
- Conduct quality reviews of all materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in documentation and recommend improvements.
What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:
- Active SECRET security clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
- IA Contractor Training and Certification and Computing Environment (CE) certification may be required at the task order level.
- 4+ years of experience in customer service, production data entry, or computer operations, with a focus on documentation or editing.
- Strong technical writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and precision.
- Familiarity with documentation standards and tools used in DoD or federal environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other content creation tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and translate complex concepts into accessible documentation.
