CSA wins $3.7M contract to continue data cleansing efforts for the US Navy
CSA was awarded a $3.7 million contract to provide data cleansing efforts for NAVSUP Systems Support Inventory Accuracy. CSA will provide supply chain management, procurement, data validation and analytical services in a data cleansing effort designed to streamline NAVSUP’s financial and logistics operations.
April 14, 2016 - PHILADELPHIA – The Navy awarded Client Solution Architects LLC (CSA) a $3.7 million Naval Supply System Command Weapon (NAVSUP) System Support (NWSS) Inventory Accuracy follow-on contract. Under this contract, CSA will provide supply chain management, procurement, data validation and analytical services in a data cleansing effort designed to streamline NAVSUP’s financial and logistics operations. In addition, CSA will support the new areas of Commercial Asset Visibility Validation to provide process improvement for asset visibility, inventory accuracy and cost savings, as well as the achievement of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) compliance for NAVSUP.
In March of 2013, CSA was awarded the initial contract to provide data-cleansing support. Since the initial award, the progression of the team’s work has been exceptional—resulting in the award of two follow-on contracts. Over the past 18 months, CSA was able to reduce the number of people on the contract while continuing to maintain or exceed, the expected productivity of delivery to the client. Improving the marginal productivity of labor, a tenet of Guidance Consulting (CSA’s consulting management approach), allows CSA to provide its client with long-term cost savings that can be reallocated to the greater good.
Leading this task is Jimmie Rice, who utilizes a metric, weight-based analytical technique to focus the team on reducing the stock in transit and Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) backlog by volume and dollar value. In addition, Jimmie maximizes the potential of his employees by applying the concepts of gamification, whereby he rewards the top three monthly performers.
“The ability to take a Guidance Consulting based approach from theory to practice has validated that these basic concepts, when properly applied, will yield tangible results,” said Todd Yanik, CSA’s Chief of Staff. “Because of our success in the past, the contract period of performance has grown from the previous 18 months to 30 months, and the number of personnel on task increased from 13 to 20. This is a clear indication that the service we provide to the client has made a difference.”
The contract, which consists of one base year and a one-year and six-months options. will be supported out of NAVSUP WSS Philadelphia, a field activity of NAVSUP.
