
Vice President of Accounting
Jeff Smithers joined CSA in 2010 and serves as CSA’s vice president, accounting. He has more than 20 years of professional experience, including 12 years in management, controller, or director of accounting roles. As CSA’s Director of Accounting, Jeff is responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger functions. In addition, he is responsible for the development of annual reports to governmental agencies including annual Incurred Cost Proposals and MCR reports.
Jeff has a wide breadth of experience, and prior to joining CSA he supported the financial operations both internally, for manufacturing and service companies, and externally, for clients of not-for-profit, governmental, and manufacturing organizations.
Throughout his career, Jeff has played a role in the acquisition, sale, and development of initial public offerings (IPOs) for various companies. Since joining CSA, Jeff has been instrumental in managing the finances of CSA as it has experienced over 200% growth during the past five years. Jeff’s experience and expertise will be influential as CSA grows from a small to a large company.
Jeff received his BS in Accounting from Penn State University and holds a CPA license. He loves to stay active by running and is one of the few CSAers who has participated in all of the CSA Adventure Challenges, running over 800 miles with his teammates. As a Pennsylvania native, you will find Jeff rooting for Penn State football every Saturday and the Eagles every Sunday. He enjoys coaching his three sons in sports and attending all of his kid’s activities with his wife.
