Brian Keller is CSA’s Executive Vice President of Client Engagement. He is responsible for ensuring a consistent and high level of client satisfaction and results across CSA’s 40+ prime and subcontractor tasks. Brian works with CSA’s consulting teams to guide and empower them to apply innovative approaches, technologies and solutions to our clients’ challenges. He establishes service excellence standards for our teams and creates a culture of teamwork and respect, for both clients and CSA, which creates both great outcomes for our clients, and high job satisfaction for our employees.
Brian began his career in the United States Navy after graduating from Virginia Tech with a BS in Business Management and a Minor in Leadership from the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (VTCC). He served in the Navy Supply Corps from 1999 to 2005 which he credits with instilling in him his passion for service to our nation and delivery excellence. In the Navy, Brian gained extensive expertise in leadership, fleet and war-time operations; and DoD business disciplines to include contracting, inventory management, life cycle sustainment and financial management. He served onboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln from 2001 to 2003 and was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. From 2003 to 2005, Brian worked as a Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Contracts Specialist where he managed over 65 defense contracts, worth $85 million.
In 2005 Brian joined CSA and began building what is today, CSA’s largest service offering: Acquisition, Contracting and Program Management services. Brian created CSA’s Contracts Management service line and his team of contracts experts advised US Navy clients in the acquisition of very complex C4I systems totaling more than $11 billion. Brian spent five years in PMW 170, providing acquisition and contracts management services to the ACAT I Navy Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Satellite Program (NESP); and another three years in PMW 770, marching the Low Band Universal Communications System (LBUCS) towards its Milestone C Decision.
From May 2012 to May 2015 Brian was CSA’s San Diego Director of Operations. He oversaw all client delivery efforts and managed CSA’s 170+ San Diego-based employees. During his time as regional director, CSA San Diego achieved employee growth of 300%+ and in 2014 was voted the third best place to work in San Diego by the Union Tribune.
In 2016, Brian was selected to be CSA’s Executive Vice President of Client Engagement where he now has national responsibility for CSA service delivery. Brian is a CSA leader in developing and applying CSA’s Guidance Consulting capabilities. In 2017 Brian will be developing and institutionalizing CSA’s client service vision statement, leadership curriculum, business process toolkits, and the next generation employee evaluation system.
Brian resides in San Diego, CA and is an avid athlete. He completed his first Ironman triathlon in November of 2014, which included a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a marathon run (26.2-miles). In July 2017, he’ll be testing his endurance again in the seven-day British Columbia Mountain Bike Race. If Brian isn’t swimming, biking, or running, you can catch him watching his Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturdays and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sundays during football season.
